Adjustable Pulleys

Adjustable pulleys are pulley systems designed to allow for changes in the effective diameter of the pulley, thereby altering the speed ratio or tension in a belt or rope drive system. Unlike fixed pulleys, which have a static diameter, adjustable pulleys can be modified to suit specific requirements.

These pulleys typically consist of two halves that can be separated or brought closer together to change the distance between them, effectively altering the effective diameter of the pulley. This adjustment changes the speed ratio between the input and output shafts in a belt or rope drive system.

Adjustable pulleys are commonly used in applications where variable speed or tension control is necessary, such as exercise equipment (like treadmills or weight machines), industrial machinery, and automotive applications. They provide flexibility in system design and operation, allowing for optimization of performance based on changing requirements.
