Pilot Bore V-Pulleys

Pilot bore V-pulleys are a type of V-belt pulley that come with a plain bore, also known as a pilot bore or pilot hole. Unlike tapered bore V-pulleys, which have a tapered inner bore, pilot bore pulleys have a simple cylindrical hole bored through the center.

The term “pilot bore” refers to the fact that this type of pulley is intended to be mounted directly onto a shaft without any taper or keyway. Instead, the pulley relies on a separate shaft fixing component, such as a locking collar, to secure it firmly in place on the shaft.

Pilot bore V-pulleys are often used in applications where the shaft diameter matches the bore diameter of the pulley. They provide a straightforward and cost-effective solution for power transmission systems that do not require the additional complexity of tapered shafts or keyways.

These pulleys are available in various sizes and configurations to accommodate different belt widths and power requirements. They are commonly used in industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, and material handling, where V-belt drives are prevalent for transmitting power between shafts.
