Chain Couplings

Chain couplings are a type of flexible coupling used to connect two shafts for the purpose of transmitting torque while accommodating misalignment. They consist of two sprockets, one attached to each shaft, connected by a roller chain.

The sprockets are typically made of metal and have teeth that engage with the rollers of the chain. The chain is looped around both sprockets, providing a flexible connection between the shafts.

Chain couplings are capable of accommodating angular, parallel, and axial misalignment between the connected shafts. They also have the ability to absorb shock loads and dampen vibrations, which helps to protect the connected equipment from damage.

These couplings are commonly used in applications such as conveyors, mixers, and other machinery where there is a need for reliable torque transmission in harsh operating conditions. They are valued for their durability, simplicity, and ability to provide flexible coupling solutions for various industrial applications.
